The North Texas Food Bank was established in 1982 to address the critical issue of hunger in our community. Since that time, the impact of hunger has grown with many North Texans, including many employed men and women who are seeking food assistance. The impact of the NTFB has also grown. Each day the North Texas Food Bank provides access to 170,000 nutritious meals for hungry children, seniors and families through a network of more than 1,000 programs and more than 200 Partner Agencies including the Wilkinson Center. In fiscal year 2015, NTFB provided access to more than 63 million meals.
The organization is committed to closing the current hunger gap that exists in North Texas, recently announcing its 10-year plan to distribute 92 million meals annually by 2025.
The NTFB is a member of Feeding America, a national hunger relief organization.
