Dallas, Texas – (May 4, 2020) – Wilkinson Center today announced it received a $40,000 grant from Truist Financial Corporation. This grant will provide food for families in need, virtual classrooms for adult learners, home food deliveries to seniors who are shut-in, specialty food bags for the homeless, and rental and utility support to financially strapped households.
The grant is part of the financial services company’s Truist Cares initiative, a $25 million philanthropic pledge announced in March to support basic needs, medical supplies and financial hardship relief due to COVID-19.
“We are very grateful for Truist’s support of Wilkinson Center during these challenging times,” says Anne Reeder, executive director of Wilkinson Center. “This generous grant will be instrumental in serving those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“We are pleased to support Wilkinson Center in their efforts to help people struggling to fulfill basic needs during this difficult time,” said Julia Harman, North Texas regional president for Truist. “These efforts align with our purpose at Truist to inspire and build better lives and communities.”
